Dropped 300 bucks on a 'career coach' who just read me a script

I paid this lady in Phoenix $300 for a session thinking she'd help me pivot industries. She spent 40 minutes telling me to network harder, basically stuff I could find in a free blog. Has anyone else burned cash on advice that was just common sense in a suit?
