Vent: my cousin asked why I upload videos at 11pm and it made me rethink my whole setup
So my cousin Marcus came by the house last Saturday to help me move some lumber and he caught me editing a video at like 11pm on a weeknight. He asked why I always upload so late and I said it's just when I finish stuff, and he goes "but is that when people watch?" I honestly never thought about it that way. I've been posting every Thursday night for 8 months to my little channel about workshop projects and I figured the schedule itself was the win. But Marcus works at a gym in Mesa and he told me their busy time is 5 to 7am and 4 to 6pm, and it got me thinking that I have zero clue when my own viewers actually open the app. I looked at my numbers later and my best video, the one about building a router table, got 400 views in the first hour and I posted that one at 7am on a Saturday because I was up early for a pour. So now I'm sitting here with 14 videos on a schedule that maybe nobody wanted. Anyone else switch up their upload times and actually see a jump, or is this one of those things where the timing matters less than just putting stuff out?
