The auto-caption fail that flipped my editing routine

I was editing a client's product video in my home office in Akron last Tuesday and the auto-captions put the wrong words over every third shot, making the whole thing look like a bad parody. Instead of punching in the fixes one by one like I always did, I tried a free transcription tool that let me export a text file and paste it into the editor, then synced everything in about 20 minutes. Has anyone else ditched the built-in caption generator for something clunkier but more reliable, or am I just weird about this?
