My subscriber count dropped 600 overnight after I changed my upload time

Last Tuesday I moved my weekly video from 7pm to 6am thinking I'd catch the morning crowd. Woke up to 600 subs gone before lunch. My analytics showed most of my audience was in Europe and they were used to seeing it after dinner their time. I panicked and switched back after 3 days but the damage was done. Took 2 weeks to climb back to where I was. Has anyone else messed with their schedule and paid for it? What do you use to pick your upload times now?
