Hit 100k views on YouTube Shorts with just a $30 ring light
My videos kept flopping for months because I filmed in a dim room with a window behind me lol. Bought a cheap ring light last Tuesday and positioned it in front of my face instead. Anyone else shocked how much lighting alone boosts watch time or is it just me?
Oh man, that is a game changer! I kept seeing people talk about lighting being the hidden secret to retention, but I never really bought it until my cousin showed me her before and after. She did the exact same thing, window behind her and everything, and her average view duration doubled overnight. It is wild how our brains just trust a well lit face more, like subconsciously we think it's a better video before we even watch it. Now I'm tempted to mess with my setup too, but knowing me I would just end up buying five more lights and never actually filming.
You ever just point a $20 desk lamp at your face and realize your $500 camera was never the problem? That was me last month, honestly it's embarrassing how simple the fix was.
