My brother has been tracking flights for 14 months and hit 500 logged, now he wont fly commercial

My brother started keeping a log of every commercial flight he takes, tail numbers, routes, delays, all of it, and last Tuesday he hit 500 flights logged since he started in 2023. He says once you see the patterns in the data, you cant unsee them, like how the same 12 tail numbers keep showing up on routes that dont make sense. Now hes refusing to book any flight on those planes and driving 9 hours to see our parents instead. I told him its just an airline cycle thing but he pulled up a spreadsheet with timestamps and I honestly didnt have a comeback. Has anyone else gone down this rabbit hole and come back out, or is he gone for good?
