Just realized my old car radio picks up aircraft chatter
Last Tuesday I was driving home from work around 3am and my FM radio started picking up these weird bursts of static. I fiddled with the dial and landed on what sounded like pilots talking to a tower, clear as day. Turns out my 2005 Honda Civic has an unshielded head unit that catches air band frequencies above the normal FM range. I checked online and there's a whole rabbit hole of people modding radios to hear ATC. Has anyone else accidentally stumbled onto something like this just by pressing buttons at the wrong time?
