I dropped $80 on a "ghost detector" app and got 3 days of fake wind noises
Last month I saw this ad for a ghost hunting app that claimed to use AI to detect spirits (you know, the kind that supposedly picks up on electromagnetic fields). I was bored and it was 2 AM, so I paid $80 for the premium version that promised real-time alerts and a spectral map of your house. After two nights of it beeping at my fridge and a creaky floorboard, I realized it was just using my phone's microphone to amplify random house sounds. I even tested it by shaking a bag of chips next to the phone and it flagged that as "paranormal activity" with a ghost icon. Has anyone else fallen for one of these scammy apps, or am I the only sucker here?
