The 'just reimage it' feedback that saved my repair shop 12 hours

A customer came in last Tuesday with a laptop that kept blue screening. My go-to move was always to reimage the drive, takes about 3 hours. One of the regulars waiting for his pickup overheard me telling the owner and said 'why not check the RAM stick seating first, takes 10 minutes'. I rolled my eyes but tried it. Turns out one stick was loose, reseated it and the machine ran fine for a full hour of testing. That one comment changed how I approach every BSOD now. Has anyone else had a customer or bystander point out something stupidly simple that you'd been skipping for years?

Funny how outsiders see what we're blind to, skill and fresh eyes beat habit every time.
