Just realized I've been holding a thermal paste tube wrong for like 8 years

I was watching a new guy at the shop, and he squeezed the tube from the bottom like toothpaste. I was about to correct him, but then I saw how clean and even his application was. I've always squeezed from the middle and gotten those annoying air pockets. He looked at my tube and said, 'Dude, you're fighting it.' Mind blown. What's a basic thing you were doing wrong way longer than you should have?

Watched my buddy struggle to open those clamshell packages for years, always using a knife and almost cutting himself. One day his girlfriend just took it, bent the two halves back and forth really fast at the seam until it popped open. He just stood there staring at his hands like they betrayed him, lmao. He said he felt like a caveman who just saw fire for the first time.

Oh man, that's the best kind of humble pie. You go from feeling like a wise master to a total rookie in two seconds flat. It's like you built your whole identity on being good at squeezing paste and then some new kid shows you the actual instructions on the box you never read.

Yeah that bottom squeeze method is a game changer. Lets you push the air out first so you get a perfect bead every time.
