Got a call to fix a server in a flooded basement last Thursday.

Water was ankle deep and the client expected a quick fix. Anyone ever had to walk away from a job like that?

My buddy Carl once found a server rack half submerged in a flooded garage. He told the guy to call him after the insurance adjuster left.

Used to think it was just being cheap. Then my neighbor's basement flooded and he was gonna throw out a perfectly good gaming PC. Dried it out, replaced the power supply, thing runs like a champ now. Changed my whole view on what people consider trash.
