A customer told me last Tuesday that Geek Squad fixed her laptop in 20 minutes, then I saw the invoice
She came into the shop on 5th Street saying the big box store ran a full tune up on her Dell for $199 and it was running great, but when I opened it up the fan was packed with 3 years of dust and the drive was still the original one from 2017. I asked her what they actually did and she showed me the receipt, and it listed a virus scan and a "performance boost" and nothing else, which means she paid two hundred bucks for someone to click a button twice. How do you folks explain to customers what real cleanup work looks like without sounding like you're just bad mouthing the other guys?
