Rant: hit dive number 1,000 last month and all I got was a sore shoulder and a leaky dry suit
Been commercial diving for 11 years now, mostly inland dam work and pipeline inspection around the Tennessee River. Kept a logbook since day one and flipped to the 1,000th entry after a 6 hour job in 40 degree water last month. The number didn't feel like much, honestly. What got me was looking back and seeing 47 entries that were just decompression stops in a chamber because I pushed a no-deco limit too far. How many dives before you all started turning down the marginal jobs instead of just taking the check?
