I think the push for all-dry gloves on every inland dive is overkill.

We used wet gloves for years on the Mississippi with no issues, but after switching to a dry system last season, I saw a 30% drop in our daily task speed. Has anyone else found the extra bulk just isn't worth it for warmer, shallow water jobs?

Heard a buddy say the same thing after his last river job.

Yeah, it's that same old story where some manager gets a shiny new idea and forces it through without listening to the people who actually do the work. I see it all the time, not just with gear but with how they set up the whole job. They chase some small saving or a new rule and end up wrecking the whole flow. Makes you wonder if they even look at the real cost of slowing everyone down, or if they just see the price tag on the new gear.

A 30% drop in task speed is huge. That would make a real mess of our schedule. I'm surprised the company pushed for the change with numbers like that. The old wet gloves sound like they were working just fine.
