Warning: Letting a fan buddy handle my grail comic was a huge error
I had this Amazing Fantasy 15 reprint, not the real one, but still special to me. This guy from our online group wanted to see it in person. We met up at a cafe, and I brought it along. He asked to hold it, and I handed it over. Next thing I know, he spills his coffee right on the table. The comic got a big stain on the back page. He apologized, but the damage was done. I learned my lesson about bringing valuables to casual meets. Now I keep my good stuff at home unless it's for a proper event.

Letting a fan buddy handle it is how you share the hobby.

My track record with that method is a comedy of errors. Handed a controller to my buddy during the final boss fight once, and he immediately fell off the map. Tried letting someone else unbox a rare collectible, classic butterfingers move right onto the concrete. At this point, me sharing the hobby is just giving people a front row seat to a disaster.

Unless you want your rare stuff broken, @william_garcia.
