Used to bike 40 minutes to my local shop for new issues, now I read everything on my phone
Tbh I used to hit up my local comic shop every Wednesday like clockwork back in high school, rain or shine. The owner would hold my pull list behind the counter and I'd flip through the new releases while he talked about whatever crossover was happening. Now I haven't stepped in a shop since 2021 and I get everything through an app on my phone. Part of it is I moved to a town with no shop within 50 miles, but honestly the bigger reason is I got tired of missing issues when they sold out. I miss the smell of the paper and the guy arguing about who could beat who in a fight, but I don't miss driving around chasing back issues. Anyone else made the switch and feel weird about it?
