Bought a signed first issue of Spider-Man for $75 online
Turned out to be a reprint from 2019 and now I just stare at my wasted money on the wall.

75 bucks for a 2019 reprint is rough, but the real lesson is checking the copyright page before you buy. Reprints from that era aren't exactly rare so you could've probably grabbed it for twenty or thirty if you looked around. At least you'll know now to always flip to that page first.

Got a buddy who once paid a hundred bucks for a first edition of a Stephen King book. Turned out it was a book club edition worth maybe fifteen. He was so mad he didn't talk to his dealer for a month. The thing is, he still keeps that book on his shelf as a reminder. Every time I see it I think about how easy it is to get burned on stuff like this if you don't do your homework. So yeah, your forty five dollar mistake ain't so bad in the grand scheme of things.
