TIL grinding beans 30 seconds before brewing makes a difference I could actually taste
I always thought pre-ground was fine until a guy at a farmers market in Des Moines handed me a sample of the same beans ground on the spot. He said "smell this, then smell the bag version" and the difference was obvious, so I bought a $25 hand grinder and now I can't go back. Has anyone else been converted by a simple demo like that, or am I just late to the party?

You ever have one of those moments where you just stare at your old coffee setup like it betrayed you? That demo got me too, but with a cheap blade grinder I borrowed from a buddy. Took one sip of my usual dark roast and suddenly it tasted flat, kinda dusty. Now I grind right before I pour and it's like a whole different drink, no fancy equipment needed.

Guess my taste buds were just lazy before... now I can't even enjoy a gas station cup without side-eyeing it.
