Tried riding my bike to the grocery store instead of driving, got a flat and learned something about my town
Decided to leave the car at home for my weekly grocery run last Saturday, it's only about 2 miles to the store on Westheimer so I figured easy win for the planet. Made it there fine, loaded up two bags, then got a flat tire on the way back and had to walk the bike the rest of the way in 95 degree heat. What I didn't expect was three different neighbors stopping to ask if I needed help, and one guy even offered to drive me and my groceries home. Turns out the bike lane on that road is basically nonexistent too, which explains why I never see anyone using it. Anyone know a cheap way to patch a tube at home, or should I just carry a spare everywhere now?
