TIL my old dryer vent was leaking $22 a month and a $6 foil tape fix fixed it
Our electric bill jumped to $186 last April and I couldn't figure out why, until I crawled behind the dryer and felt warm air blowing out of a gap in the vent pipe connection into the laundry room. I wrapped that joint with foil tape and cleaned the whole run out, and the bill dropped back to $165 the next cycle. Has anyone else found cheap little energy leaks like this around the house that actually moved the number on the bill?
