PSA: the bins at my local transfer station in Dayton still have no glass recycling and it's driving me nuts
Went to drop off a truckload of cardboard and old outlets at the transfer station off Valley Street in Dayton last Saturday and noticed the glass bin is just gone. Not full, gone. A guy working there told me they pulled it about 7 weeks ago because the buyer stopped taking mixed glass and nobody has stepped in since. So now I'm stacking pickle jars and wine bottles in my garage because I refuse to toss them in the trash. I called the county twice and got passed around to three different people who all acted like this was news to them. It's one thing when a program is cut for budget reasons, but nobody told residents anything, no sign, no flyer, nothing. Does anyone know if there's a drop-off within 30 miles of here that actually takes glass, or am I just holding onto this stuff for nothing?
