Ha, that uncle sounds like my dad. But here is the thing nobody mentions, community solar is great but your neighbors in apartments or rentals often cannot even sign up for it. The real needle mover is pushing your city to do group buying for whole neighborhoods, that gets the price down for everyone and actually shifts the baseline. Four bucks a month is a good start, do not get me wrong, but the math changes when you get a hundred houses doing it together.
