My neighbor in Phoenix said something about his lawn that I can't stop thinking about
So I was out watering my gravel last month and my neighbor Dave mentioned he ripped out his grass back in 2019 and his water bill dropped by about $80 a month. He said he felt guilty at first, like he was giving up, but then he realized he was actually doing something real for the city's water supply. I always thought these desert landscaping trends were just a rich people thing, but hearing him talk about the numbers made me look at my own yard differently. Has anyone here switched from grass to gravel or desert plants, and did it actually feel like climate action to you or just a chore?
