Storing my '69 Mustang in a climate controlled unit backfired bad

I went against the common advice and stored my Mustang in a climate controlled unit here in Phoenix last July thinking it would protect the paint and interior. But the constant dehumidifier running dried out every rubber seal and gasket in the car within 3 months, costing me $600 to replace them all. Has anyone else had problems with climate control actually damaging moisture sensitive parts?

Constant dehumidifier running" - yeah that'll do it. Did the place not have a humidity sensor or something, or did they just keep that thing on max the whole time? Asking cause I'm curious if there's a setting that could've saved you the headache.

Honestly I'm not sure it's that big of a deal. We had a dehumidifier running nonstop in our basement for years and never saw any damage or high bills. Unless the unit was way oversized or broken, I think a lot of the "it'll ruin your house" stuff gets blown out of proportion online.
