Unpopular opinion: Flex rods are overrated for heavy use

I was dead set on using a flex rod for every job until I snapped one last month cleaning a 20-foot flue in an old house near Austin. After switching back to a solid poly rod, I realized the flex just wears out too fast given the $80 price tag. Anyone else find flex rods don't hold up like they claim?

Yep, I snapped one too and realized the extra cost just ain't worth the wear on tough jobs.
