Showerthought: spent 4 hrs on a bird nest in a Richmond flue cause I skipped the camera
Pulled up to a 1920s house in Richmond last month, homeowner said it was just a light sweep, so I didn't bother running the camera down first. Turns out a starling nest was wedged 6 feet past the damper and I ended up pulling it out in chunks with a 3 foot rod for 4 hours instead of the 45 min I quoted. Anyone else learned to always scope the flue before quoting, or do you still roll the dice on the easy ones?
