Took 11 months to admit my SEO tool subscription was a total waste

I kept renewing that $79 a month Ahrefs plan because I told myself I needed the data. Then I realized I was just staring at keyword graphs instead of actually writing posts. A free Google Search Console plus a simple spreadsheet showed me the same issues in 2 days. Has anyone else paid for a tool for way too long before dumping it?

$948 over 11 months is what you ended up spending. That's real money, sure, but it's also the cost of a few dinners out. I'm not sure a free spreadsheet actually told you "the same issues" unless all you were doing was checking rankings. Ahrefs gives you backlink data and competitor gaps that GSC just doesn't have. Maybe you didn't need it, but calling it a total waste feels like you're overselling your own realization.
