Vent: My old framing hammer from 2012 finally gave out on a job in Tacoma last week.

Three years ago I would have just grabbed a new one, but this month I spent two hours cleaning and hanging it in the garage instead. Anyone else get weirdly attached to a specific tool?

Totally get that. Mounted my first cordless drill on the wall after the chuck finally locked up for good. That thing saw me through my entire apprenticeship. Felt wrong to just toss it in the bin after all those years. Now it's a reminder of where I started every time I walk into the shop.

Is it really worth keeping a broken drill?

Oh man, that's such a solid way to honor a tool! I love that idea, @angela587. My old hammer is beat to heck but I still keep it in the toolbox for the same reason. It's cool to have that physical piece of your start still around.
