The 10 minute phone screening that changed how I apply

I got a call from a recruiter last Tuesday who spent the whole time asking about one project on my resume, not my job history. Turns out she wanted to know if I could explain the logic behind a failed launch I handled. It hit me that interview prep should focus on your mistakes, not just wins. Has anyone else found that talking through failures gets you further than rehearsing achievements?
