Question about job hunting: old way of sending resumes vs new way with LinkedIn
Back in 2018 I mailed out 40 paper resumes to companies in Denver and got 2 callbacks. Now I just tweak my LinkedIn profile and get 5 recruiter messages a month without applying anywhere. My buddy swears the old way shows more effort and says I'm lazy for not writing cover letters. But I think the new way works better because it's less about begging and more about being findable. Which side do you all land on, and has anyone actually tested both ways side by side?
