I thought networking events were a total waste of time until a 45 minute chat at a Denver coffee shop got me a job interview
I used to skip every industry meetup, thinking it was just awkward small talk and business card swaps. Then last November I went to one at a cozy spot called The Roost and talked to a guy about a project I'd worked on, and he referred me to his company the next day. Has anyone else had a random conversation actually pay off like that?

Oh man, it's wild how the best opportunities come from the most casual moments! It's like life has this way of rewarding you when you're not trying too hard, you know?

That's funny, I used to be all about grinding and planning every move. Life felt like a checklist I had to complete. But you're right, the stuff that actually changed things for me came out of nowhere, like running into someone at a coffee shop or just sending a random message. It made me realize I was probably blocking my own luck by trying too hard.
