I quit my job at 29 with $1,200 in the bank and it broke me for 3 months
Two years ago I walked out of a job I hated with $1,200 to my name and no plan. I figured I'd find something in a few weeks. It took 11 weeks and I burned through all of it plus $800 on a credit card just to eat. What nobody tells you is that being broke and jobless at the same time makes you worse at interviews because you smell like fear. I bombed four interviews in a row, one guy literally said I seemed desperate, and he was right. What finally worked was taking a job I thought was beneath me at a small shop, and using that as a launchpad. Has anyone else had a gap blow up way bigger than they expected?
