The artisan bread shop boycott that backfired on me in Portland
I stopped going to that bakery after the owner got called out for posting something rude about a customer. Three months later I caved and went back. The sourdough is still great. But now there's a line out the door every Saturday and they raised prices 20%. Guess the controversy did them good. Has anyone else seen a cancel attempt just make a business more popular?

So did the line out the door make you think the boycott actually drove away the regulars, or were those people always there and you just didn't notice because you were avoiding the place? I'm curious if the owner posted an apology or just doubled down on the rude comment, since that usually decides whether the crowd sticks around or moves on to the next drama.
