That influencer who faked a charity drive in 2021 still bothers me

I remember back in April 2021, this lifestyle blogger named Jenna Cole started a GoFundMe for homeless teens in Portland and raised $12,000. Turned out she kept $8,000 for herself and donated the rest to a friend's business. She got called out and deleted her accounts, but I saw her pop up last month on TikTok with a new name. Does a stunt like that mean she should be done forever, or can people really change after something that calculated?

The $8,000 she pocketed is the part that really gets me. That's not a mistake, that's a full on heist dressed up as generosity. She had to actively decide to transfer that money and lie to everyone who believed in her cause. I get that people can grow and feel bad about stuff they did, but taking money meant for homeless kids feels next level cruel. Seeing her pop back up on TikTok with a new name just proves she's not even trying to own what she did. I'd need to see a lot of real accountability and maybe some kind of restitution before I'd ever trust her again.

$12,000 raised with only $4,000 actually helping anyone is wild. Honestly @sandra_bennett59 at least you're being upfront about it, I'd probably mess up the GoFundMe link AND the math somehow. Ngl people can change but that level of planning makes me doubt it.
