My uncle warned me not to buy a used Jeep from a guy in Barstow, and I didn't listen
He looked at the ad, saw the seller was meeting people in a parking lot off the 15, and flat out said that deal was hiding something. Two months and $2,100 in transmission work later, the thing died on the 40 outside Needles. So was my uncle right, or did I just get unlucky with one bad seller?
Did your uncle also tell you those parking lot deals off the 15 are never just a coincidence? I feel for you though, dropping that kind of cash on a transmission and then having it die outside Needles is a special kind of pain. Sometimes it's one bad seller, but a guy meeting strangers in a parking lot instead of letting you see the Jeep at his place is usually a sign something's being hidden.
