Dropped $220 on a 'cancelled' chef's knife set from that YouTube guy, and now I get why he got cancelled
Blade chipped on a butternut squash after maybe 4 uses, the handle came loose on the third one, and his whole apology video was just him blaming his supplier, so yeah, I think the internet was right this time, but has anyone actually found a decent knife set under $150 that doesn't fall apart?
Was the chip right at the edge or further up the blade? A lot of these YouTube knives use steel that's too hard for how thin they grind the edge, so it just crumbles on anything dense. And when you say the handle came loose, was it the rivets backing out or the whole scale lifting off the tang? That tells you if it's a pin problem or just bad epoxy, which changes what you should even look for in a replacement.
