The $47 annual fee on my old MasterCard finally pushed me over the edge

So last month I was going through my statements and noticed I've been paying $47 a year on this card I've had since like 2015. It was fine when I was using it for points but now my other card gives me cash back and no fee. Called them up to ask about waiving it, they said no unless I spend more. Told them I'd cancel and they didn't even try to keep me. Cancelled it right there. Has anyone else had banks just let you walk like that? I thought they'd at least offer something.
