Showerthought: my credit union on King St still has a paper rate board and I kinda miss when that was normal
Stopped by the branch in Kitchener last Tuesday to deposit a cheque and noticed the old rate board by the teller still lists savings at 1.5%, which is somehow close to what my high interest account pays now. Twenty years ago my dad would walk me in there to swap out GICs every few months and the rates felt like they mattered. Now I do everything on my phone and I cannot remember the last time I set foot in a branch on purpose. Anyone else still keep an account at a physical branch just for the feeling, or am I wasting my time?
