Warning: That ultralight stove failed me on day 3 of a 5 day trip

I picked up one of those tiny titanium stoves everyone raves about, the BRS-3000T. Last month in the Smokies, the flame started sputtering by day 3 at around 3500 feet elevation. It just couldn't handle the wind even with my homemade windscreen, and I was stuck boiling water for 20 minutes. Has anyone else had a similar issue with these stoves in real conditions?

Did you use the little red gasket that comes with it? If that's missing or not seated right, these stoves leak air and run real weak.

Oh yeah, that red gasket is the first thing I check now, learned that one the hard way too.

Did you try bringing a backup stove just in case, or did you risk it with just one?
