TIL that cheap ultrasonic cleaners from online marketplaces can actually work for camera parts
I always thought you needed a $500 industrial unit, but my buddy in Phoenix showed me his $80 one cleaning a sticky shutter assembly perfectly. Has anyone else had good results with budget tools, or did I just get lucky?

How many times have we all overpaid for the "pro" version of something? I grabbed a cheap heat gun for shrink tubing last year, expecting it to die in a week... still works fine. Sometimes the expensive brand is just a name.

Totally feel that. I bought a no-name soldering iron for like twenty bucks years ago, figured it was a throwaway. Thing still heats up perfectly every single time. My buddy's fancy branded one died after six months. Makes you wonder what you're really paying for sometimes.

Agree, but @jason_lewis3 got lucky with that iron.
