A client in Phoenix told me my lens cleaning looked rushed

They pointed out a tiny smudge I missed in the corner, saying it felt like I just wanted the job done fast. I started using a second, smaller light source at a low angle to catch those last bits of haze. How do you guys make sure your final wipe-down is actually final?

That Phoenix client would hate my kitchen windows.

That "final wipe-down" thing hits home. It's like checking your phone for keys. You look right at the empty spot and your brain says "all clear." I do it with dishes, a spot still wet, or leaving one bag of groceries in the car. Your extra light trick is smart. It forces a different angle so your eyes can't autopilot past the problem.

Honestly that second light sounds like overkill to me. I mean, a tiny smudge in the corner? Most people would never even see that. The client in Phoenix sounds super picky. Allen.kai is right about the brain autopilot thing, but maybe that's okay sometimes. You could spend forever chasing perfection and still miss something. I'd just do a good standard wipe and call it done. Trying to catch every last bit of haze seems like a fast track to driving yourself crazy for no real payoff.
