Dropped $340 on a Domino connector set for face frames and I'm honestly mad it works this well
I build face frame cabinets in a two man shop outside of Cleveland and pocket screws were leaving slight shifts on the stiles, so 5 weeks ago I finally bought a Domino and the connector kit. $340 later my frames are dead flush every time and dry fit takes me maybe 4 minutes instead of 20. My boss still thinks it was a waste of money because 'a clamp and a screw work fine,' but he's not the one redoing a glue up at 6pm. Anyone else get pushed into a tool by a problem that kept coming back, or did you find a cheaper way to keep face frames from sliding?
Same thing happened to me with a biscuit joiner on a run of oak frames. Kept getting tiny steps on the stiles and just ate the cost so I'd stop fighting it. Clamps plus screws are fine until you're the one standing there at 6pm fixing a racked frame.
