Tried a new brand of vacuum tumbler for sausage, total dud
Bought a 'ProVac 5000' for about $400 thinking it would speed up our batch processing. The seal failed after maybe ten uses, and the motor started making a grinding noise. Anyone have a reliable brand they've stuck with for years?

Yeah, that "seal failed after maybe ten uses" part is the real killer. Makes you wonder if they even test these things before slapping a "pro" label on them.

Ten uses before a seal fails, @wesleyb20? That's just sad.

Check the warranty details on their site. A seal failing that fast points to a bad batch or a design flaw they should cover. Did the original poster say if they tried to get a replacement or a refund? Companies rely on people not bothering to make a claim.

Totally agree about checking the warranty. I had a blender motor burn out after a month. I just kept pushing with their customer service, sent them the receipt and a video of it not working. They tried to say it was my fault at first, but I stayed on them and they finally sent a whole new unit. You gotta be that person who bothers to make the claim.
