The part of my business internet bill that shocked me most was the upload speed
I run a small design shop out of my garage in Boise and always focused on download speed when picking a provider. Last month our cable guy mentioned during an install that most small business plans cap upload at a tenth of the download number, which I never noticed on the fine print. When I checked our own numbers, we were paying for 300 down but only getting 20 up, and that was the real reason client file backups crawled every evening. I called and switched to a fiber plan with 200 up for about $15 more a month, and now backups finish in minutes. Has anyone else found out the hard way that their upload was the real bottleneck for their shop?
