Why does no one tell you that the fastest way to get over a friendship ending is to delete the text thread
I sat on my phone for about 3 months rereading old messages from a friend I cut off last spring in Denver. Every time I scrolled back I felt awful all over again. What finally worked was boring: I archived the thread, then had my sister change my phone passcode so I couldn't get back in for a month. Sounds silly, but after about 2 weeks I stopped reaching for it. Now I barely think about it. Has anyone else tried something this dumb that actually helped?
