PSA: I just switched from a weekly spread to a rolling daily log and my brain is so much calmer

For like six months I was making these perfect weekly boxes on Sunday night, but half the time they'd be empty or I'd need more space. Last week I just started writing the next day's tasks at the bottom of the current page, rolling it forward. It feels messy but way more real for how my work actually happens. Anyone else ditch a rigid structure for something more loose?

Isn't this how most good systems eventually simplify themselves?

Used to think good systems had to get more complex to handle new stuff. But then I saw how the iPhone basically killed a ton of separate gadgets. It just put a camera, a music player, and a phone all into one simple slab. Changed my whole view. Now I get that the best stuff often ends up hiding a ton of power behind a really simple face.

Too bad that simple slab now needs a thousand page terms of service nobody reads.

Right, until you try to explain that simple slab to your grandma. Then it feels like you're describing a spaceship.
