Showerthought: A canceled appointment turned into my best financial week in months.

I had a regular client cancel last minute on Monday, which normally kills my day's income. Instead of sitting around, I used the free time to finally call and negotiate my internet bill down by $35 a month. Has anyone else had a small change in routine lead to a bigger money win?

Rose has a point, but you're missing the mental block part. That free time wasn't just a nudge, it was a pressure release. Staring at a blank spot in your calendar forces you to fill it, and you chose a productive task you'd been avoiding. The win is absolutely from the canceled appointment, because it broke you out of your normal stressed mindset.

Wait, hold on. That's just fixing a problem you already had. You were overpaying for months, right? The win wasn't the free time, it was finally making that call. The cancelation just gave you a nudge. Isn't the real lesson to check your bills more often, free time or not?

Exactly what @rose_reed said... I finally looked at my phone bill last month and found a "protection plan" I never asked for. Felt so dumb for paying it for a year.
