My grocery bill in Denver dropped by $40 after I started checking the clearance meat section on Sunday evenings.
The butcher told me they mark everything down right before the new ad starts, so I get good cuts for half price. Anyone else have a specific store or day that works for them?

I always thought clearance meat was just the weird leftover bits. Learning the specific markdown schedule from a worker changed my whole shopping routine. Now I plan my trips for Wednesday mornings.

Okay, the part about learning the markdown schedule from a worker really got me. I used to totally avoid that section, thinking it was all old stuff they were just trying to get rid of. But asking someone when they actually do the markdowns makes so much sense, it's a total game changer. I mean, idk why I never thought to just ask before. Maybe it's just me but that tip feels like finding a secret level in a game.
