My fridge died on a Sunday and I didn't panic buy a new one

The compressor went out, which would have been a $900 fix on a 12 year old unit. I spent $80 on a mini fridge from a local store to keep the essentials cold and took a full week to research and find a good deal on a scratch and dent model. Anyone have a good source for used appliances that aren't total junk?

Respectfully disagree, I would have just fixed the old unit.

Tried that last year and the parts were impossible to find. Ended up costing more in labor than a basic new unit. Sometimes replacement is the actual fix.

Yeah, with my two left hands and a butter knife.
