My barber in Tulsa talked me out of a $180 clipper set, and here is what he said instead
I went in for a cut last Saturday and asked him what clippers to buy so I could trim my own head and save money. He laughed and asked how much I spend per cut ($25 every 3 weeks) and then did the math out loud for me: that is $400 a year just on my own head. He said most guys buy the gear, use it twice, and come back with a crooked fade anyway. His tip was to stretch my cuts to 5 weeks and put the extra $35 a month into a jar. That is $420 a year for doing almost nothing different. Curious if anyone here has tried stretching a personal service instead of cutting it out completely, did it stick?
